New Jersey’s liberal governor is forcing us into electric vehicles as he panders to the woke climate extremists whose plans to “save the planet” are questionable and onerous. But electric vehicles are apparently not good enough for the governor and his entourage: The governor used $522,783 of federal Covid money to purchase eight large SUVs, as reported by NJ.com.
State Sen. Michael Testa correctly responded, saying: “Instead of putting the billions in unspent [Covid] relief funds that have sat idle in state accounts for two years to effective use, Democrats prioritized their own comfort and convenience over helping people. It’s despicable.”
Not only did taxpayers pay for the Chevrolet Suburbans, they will continue to pay for the gasoline and maintenance of the vehicles for years to come.
New Jersey received more than $6 billion in Covid relief money; the governor latched on to $3 billion of it so he could spend the money without legislative approval or oversight.
Where’s all the money going and why? Is anyone auditing how the money is being spent? Has anyone in Murphy’s administration thought of using the federal money to lower taxes? Of course not.
Murphy and President Biden, think the use of our money is their privilege. It’s not. We have to fight harder to wrestle control of government spending from the liberals.
